ABOUT MEMBERSHIP 

When you join the Greater Houston Section (GHS) of the National Council of Jewish Women, you become part of a vital organization that has existed for almost 100 years here in Houston, Texas. We are in our schools, our courthouses, our State Houses, on the phone and in the trenches working to change lives every day. The 800+ members of GHS will be celebrating its centennial birthday in 2013.

The National organization was formed in 1893 and with its current national membership of 90,000, has been a powerful force for social change across the country and around the globe—stepping forward and speaking out on critical issues to improve the well-being of women, children and families years before others followed its courageous example.

Come, join us! Annual dues are only $40 or become a Life Member for only $350 and join some 400 of our Life Members who never have to think about paying dues again.

Greater Houston Section has four branches and All NCJW GHS members may attend any NCJW general meeting and volunteer at any of the four branches. Check out Branch Happenings to learn more.

Day Branch, usually meets mornings from September to May on the 3rd or 4th Friday of the month. The membership consists of women and men of all ages.

Career Branch , was formed to meet the needs of members who work during the day. Their meetings are held at 7:30PM on the 1st Wednesday of each month.

Concerned Young Women, was formed to meet the needs of members who work during the day. Their meetings are held at 7:30PM on the 1st Wednesday of each month

West Houston Evening Branch , focuses its efforts on serving the needs of the West Houston Jewish Community. Meetings are held the 3rd Monday evening of each month in the area bounded by Sugar Land, Alief, Memorial, Mission Bend and Katy.
